Airbnb: Hosts over 60 are the best rated

In Mexico, Airbnb hosts over 60 have the highest rating of any age group, with an average of 4.8 stars. Additionally, approximately 17% of Guest-Favorites spaces (a collection of the 2 million most popular Airbnb spaces worldwide, based on ratings, reviews, and reliability data from over 500 million Trips) are hosted by an older adult.

The platform recognizes hosts who achieve excellent results by calling them Super Hosts. To enjoy this badge, hosts must meet requirements such as: completing at least 10 stays or three reservations that add up to at least 100 nights, maintaining a response rate of 90% or more, maintaining a cancellation rate of less than 1%, having maintained an overall rating of 4.8, among others. Super Hosts are easy to identify because they have a special badge on their listings so everyone knows they are amazing.

According to data from the platform, in Mexico, at the end of 2023, approximately 15% of hosts were people over 60 years old. This group of hosts finds in the platform an economic opportunity that provides them with additional support, in addition to allowing them to share with new people, turning them into friends and even family.

Eugenio has been a super host on Airbnb for six years in the State of Mexico.
