The Colombian singer-songwriter Fonseca premiered this Saturday his tour “Tropicalia Tour 2024″, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republicwhere those present enjoyed a party full of tropical musicwhich ranged from pop to vallenato.

A euphoric audience welcomed the artist at the Volleyball Pavilion of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, in a show that began at 10:30 at night with one of his most recognized songs “You are my dream”, which belongs to his first studio album “Fonseca” released in 2002.

For an hour and a half, Fonseca He made a musical journey from his beginnings to the present, including songs from his most recent album “Tropicalia“.

Accompanied by a drummer, a pianist, two guitarists, a bassist, an accordionist, two percussionists and a backing singer, he continued to the rhythm of tropipop with “Vine a buscarte”, the merengue “Pedacito de playa” and “Entre mi vida y la tuya”, the latter inspired by the big band sound.

In his first words, the 45-year-old singer-songwriter expressed his deep admiration for the Dominican Republic.

“Thank you, thank you for the welcome, thank you for this beautiful energy that has been felt from the first second. What a joy it is to always return to the Dominican Republic that I love so much!” he said.

The repertoire also included “Enrédame”, “En vivo y en directo”, “Paraíso”, “Confiésame”, “Ven”, “Cartagena”, “Volver a verte”, “Out of pure curiosity”, “Por toda la vida”, among others.

Special Guest

The Dominican artist Pavel Nunez accompanied him on stage to perform “Testimony” of the laureate Juan Luis Guerra. During this song Fonseca he played the guitar.

The Colombian also sang “Si tú me quieres”, a song with the maestro Juan Luis Guerra and with which they won a Latin Grammy for “Best Tropical Song” in 2023.
