After Hurricane Beryl hit the coast of Quintana Roo, there were no serious damages to the infrastructure or victims to mourn. In the case of Cancun, of the 126 thousand tourists who spent the night in the destination, only 29 tourists needed assistance, including 27 Chileans who were placed in a shelter in the city center.

These tourists, along with two others from Colombia and Argentina, were the ones who required some kind of support from consulates and they all managed to spend a peaceful night as they were perfectly attended to. Meanwhile, on the island of Holbox, the report is that the 1,681 tourists who spent the night there are doing well.

For its part, the Tourism Promotion Council (CPTQ) reported that protocols and portals such as Guest Locator and Guess Assist were activated to meet the demand that could be generated. These platforms allowed for accurate data on more than 38,739 tourists throughout the state. The information was shared with embassies and consulates.

The report states that temporary shelters inside and outside hotels have worked as planned and have not reported any incidents; tourists who were transferred to temporary shelters have already returned to their hotels or homes, such is the case of Tulum, where more than 7,100 tourists were sheltered, as it was believed that this would be the area most impacted by the hurricane.

As reported REPORTUR.mxauthorities expect Hurricane Beryl to remain in Mexico until Sunday when it will hit Mexican territory for the second time, after passing through the Gulf of Mexico. (Mexico: they warn that Hurricane Beryl will remain until Sunday)
