José Chapur, owner of the Palace Resorts Group, explained the need to incorporate daycare centers in hotels for the children of employees, who often have to leave their jobs to take care of their children, so he hopes that the sector will join the initiative and thus be able to fill the vacancies they currently have.
“We have two at Palace Resorts, they are called Pequeños Risueños. There is one in Cancun and one in the Riviera Maya, that is fine for us, they are the destinations where we saw there was a need, because the reason for the nurseries is because when we built them you realize that you had very good maids, for example, and that they had to leave work to take care of their newborn children,” said Chapur, as reported by La Jornada.
These nurseries are participatory in that “the hotelier sets them up, operates them or rents them out and the IMSS pays between 4 and 5,500 pesos per child,” explained Chapur.
Likewise, Chapur confirmed that next week the general director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo, will arrive in Quintana Roo, who will be in charge of indicating the conditions of the Hotel daycare centers.
“Next week the director of Social Security, Zoé Robledo, will be here, we will see if he can make a call to hoteliers or businessmen in general for daycare centers, what requirements they need for construction, because it has a lot to do with the quality of the construction with the specifications for child care and others and that they are safe,” said Chapur.

Eduardo Domínguez Ibarra, vice president of the Hotel Association of Cancún, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres, pointed out at the time that hotels maintain job fairs in the offices with more than 14 hotels that announce their offer.
