The new Prime Minister of Haiti, Garry Conille, has formed his cabinet, among whose members the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dominique Dupuy, stands out, according to local media reports.
Dupuy, Haiti’s representative to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), resigned last March from his status as a member of the Haitian Presidential Transition Council, after he denounced in a video that He received a death threat and was insulted through social networks by Haitian groups.

Other names that came to light according to this information are that of Conille himself, who was appointed Minister of the Interior; Moise Jean-Pierre, Minister of the Environment; Brignol Georges Fil, in charge of the Ministry of Public Health and Jean Marc Berthier Antoine, Minister of Defense.
Likewise, Marie Françoise Suzan will hold the Status of Women portfolio and Carlos Hercule will hold the Justice portfolio.
The formation of the cabinet is an essential part for Conille to firmly begin his role as prime minister of Haiti, appointed by the Transitional Presidential Council.
Three police officers murdered
Conille promised that he will fight “without respite against violence and impunity,” a day after armed gangs murdered three members of the Temporary Anti-Gang Unit (UTAG) of the National Police in the Sans Fil area, in Delmas 18, in the center of Port-au-Prince.
“I strongly condemn these criminal acts and reiterate my commitment to fight relentlessly against violence and impunity. It is imperative that the perpetrators of these crimes be quickly arrested and brought to justice,” Conille said in a public statement.
He added that all measures will be taken to support the families of the victims, whose murder was claimed by the powerful gang leader, former police officer Jimmy Cherizier, alias ‘Barbecue’, who controls the Delmas 18 area.
In a video released on Sunday, Barbecue assured that they have acquired at least four heavy weapons and dozens of large-caliber cartridges for the Haitian National Police: “In the meantime, I’m keeping them. They are in my hands, and you will do everything in your power to get them back.”
Haiti continues to wait for a multinational force approved by the United Nations Security Council that, led by Kenya, is committed to combating and reducing the armed gangs that dominate most of Port-au-Prince and other areas of the country.
