The National Emergency Assistance System 911 announced yesterday that one of the goals for the year 2025 is to double the number of cameras at the national level for the work of video surveillancegoing from 5,700 that currently exist to 11,755.
The announcement was made during the presentation to members of the press of the institution’s progress in managing emergencies and security citizen, through technologies based on Intelligence Artificial (AI), Machine Learning and Neural Networks.
“We are going to strengthen the capacity of video surveillance in the territory, going from 5,700 currently to 11,755 for a variation of 106.14%. This system constitutes one of the core processes of the 911“said the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza.
Paliza stated that the System 911 is in “a stage of maturation and consolidation”, with the implementation of the “new generation 911“, using technology cutting edge for more efficient coordination in response to different types of emergencies, security citizen and investigations of the Public Ministry.

Currently, the System 911 It operates in 25 provinces, covering 92.3% of the national territory, except for the border provinces and some areas in the South, which, due to remoteness, are still working on the development of logistics to incorporate them into the management model.
“We are the second country in Latin America to have the Apple and of Google simultaneously for the exact geolocation of the user, using the mobile phone sensors, as well as the use of artificial intelligence in the selection of the most appropriate unit, taking into account dynamic variables of traffic, distance and availability of the response units in real time,” explained the director.
This new technology allows you to create maps of heat in real time to gather information on security citizen (useful for the Police National); traffic accidents (useful for the Institute National of Transit and Land Transportation) and health events, which can be used to create public policies by the Ministry of Health.
