Due to strong turbulence, an Air Europa Flight, on the route from Madrid to Montevideo, had to make an emergency landing at the Natal airport in Brazil, as reported Preferential.

According to information from the airline, the aircraft, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with 325 passengers on board, had to be diverted due to the incidents recorded during the Flight, as seven passengers were injured to varying degrees, while other passengers were injured. They suffered minor bruises.

The airline also reported considerable damage to the aircraft, especially inside the cabin. Videos posted on social media show some luggage compartments detached.

The plane will remain under review to assess the damage and Air Europa will have an aircraft available in the next few hours to transport the affected passengers, the company said.
