The Emergency Operations Center (COE) maintains 10 provinces and the National District on yellow alert and 14 on green alert, due to a low pressure system located in the southwest of the country and a trough in the middle and upper levels of the troposphere located near the eastern portion of Cuba.
The provinces on yellow alert are the following: San Pedro de MacorÃs, National District, Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Peravia, San José de Ocoa, Azua, Barahona, Bahoruco, Independencia and Pedernales.
While on green alert are: La Altagracia, La Romana, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Samaná, Monseñor Nouel, Sánchez RamÃrez, Duarte, La Vega, Santiago de los Caballeros, Santiago RodrÃguez and Monte Cristi.
Vehicle drivers must take appropriate preventive measures due to the reduction in visibility generated by the rains.
Likewise, parents are recommended to have control over their children, to prevent them from using rivers, streams and ravines that have high volumes of water, and also not to use spas in the provinces under alert.
Likewise, atmospheric conditions will remain very conducive to showers, which will be moderate to strong at times, thunderstorms and gusts of wind.
