Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has appointed Andrés Bernal Montoya as Director of Sales for Latin America and the Caribbean. A Colombian national, Andrés Bernal, who has been based in Mexico City since 2023 after 10 years in Chile, “comes to bring to Wyndham vast experience in the Hotel industry, having previously held leadership positions in international Hotel chains. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism and Hotel Business Administration, as well as a Master’s Degree in Marketing and Commercial Management,” the Hotel chain said.

“His track record includes developing and implementing successful sales strategies, managing high-performance teams and strengthening key relationships with clients and partners in the region, from Mexico to Argentina,” the statement added.

Wyndham said that “as a commercial expert in global Hotel sales and through a professional vision based on leadership, commitment and simplicity, Andrés Bernal has prioritized throughout his career the role of the human factor and teamwork, adding talent to purposeful plans, with increasingly efficient procedures adapted to the diverse needs of the sector and the markets.”

In his new role, “Bernal will focus on continuing to grow sales for the hotels in the company’s portfolio in the region, focusing on the strategy of the market segments, on Wyndham’s contribution from global sales, on the dialogue with the other Wyndham GSO teams around the world and on generating deep and long-term relationships with clients in Latin America and the Caribbean, which contribute to increasing the hotels’ share. Andrés Bernal has teams in Brazil, Colombia, Argentina and Mexico.

As reported by REPORTUR.coone of Wyndham’s latest actions in Latin America has been the alliance with Decameron to market nine of its resorts representing more than 2,600 rooms in Mexico, Jamaica and Panama, according to a joint note from both companies. (Decameron allies with Wyndham to market 9 of its resorts).
