The spectre of Covid is now re-emerging in the form of Mpox, or monkeypox. Now, the largest airports in the United States, New York (JFK), Los Angeles and Atlanta, have begun to apply preventive scans to travellers on planes arriving from African areas where the virus has been detected.

Not being scanned means being rejected from the country. The measure was put in place by the famous CDC (which we learned about during Covid) with the US Department of Homeland Security.

This does not apply in Europe, but the European committee that performs the same function has recommended that the countries of the European Union introduce the same measure for Flights from these African regions. France, Great Britain (outside this community body) and Belgium are the countries to which the majority of Flights from these regions usually fly.

In South Korea, on the other side of the world, the testing has also started. At the moment, preventive measures are only applied to Flights from Ethiopia. Besides this country, Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda are the most affected, although not the only ones. In these countries, more than 500 deaths have already been recorded so far this year.

As reported by REPORTUR.usIn mid-July 2020, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) banned entry into the country to passengers who only had a single dose of vaccination on their card. (USA prohibits entry to those vaccinated with a single dose).
