Unicef ​​renews agreement with El Embajador hotel

The United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) and the Hotel The Ambassador, at Royal Hideawayrenewed the collaboration agreement signed in 2019 for a period of three more years to support the realization of the charity dinner “A Taste of Hope”, a meeting that the international organization, in coordination with its Business Advisory Council, holds annually in favor of children and adolescents in the Dominican Republic.

Through this commitment, the aforementioned Hotel assumes the sponsorship of this gastronomic experience for three more years.

The traditional meeting will be held in 2024 on September 30 and October 1 at the Embassy Garden, according to a statement.

The “A Taste of Hope” will be served on this occasion by the renowned chef Saverio Stassi and by Mario Castrellón, Panamanian chef who runs the Maito restaurant, considered number 6 of the Best Restaurants in Latin America on the San Pellegrino list of 2023.
Two nights of tasting menus will be offered in a culinary experience that will fuse the best of Panamanian and Dominican cuisine. The event will have a total of 120 attendees each day and will also receive the selfless collaboration of the company Maeno&Co in the production of the event.
In addition to the agreement, the Hotel, as a UNICEF ally, incorporated the Rights of the Child and Business Principles into its Corporate Social Responsibility policy years ago, and signed the Code of Conduct for the prevention of child sexual exploitation in the Travel and tourism sector.

In these tasks, companies and donors play a fundamental role: for their commitment to children and their permanent voluntary solidarity, which are essential and allow us to move forward. This feeling of unity with children and adolescents gives us the opportunity to light a torch of hope for the well-being of children in the Dominican Republic.”

The funds raised will be allocated to UNICEF programs in the Dominican Republic to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality; prevent acute child malnutrition; improve the quality of education through advocacy, initiatives and joint actions with the State, as well as protect all children and adolescents from all types of violence, and also seek the timely prevention of early unions and teenage pregnancy.
