Following the impact of Hurricane Beryl in the municipality of Tulum, the damage has been minor, consisting only of fallen trees, damaged roofs and some broken glass in houses and establishments.

This was confirmed by Diego Castañón, mayor of Tulum, who confirmed on social media that no damage has been reported to the hydraulic network, only to the electric power, poles, trees and some structures. He added that the relief phase has already begun with emergency brigades.

For her part, Governor Mara Lezama visited this municipality, the main area of ​​impact of the hurricane, to conduct a tour together with authorities from the three levels of government. The governor reported that at noon the road leading to the Hotel zone of Tulum was cleared.

Regarding basic services, the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) announced shortly before noon that personnel are already carrying out electrical restoration work on the Playa del Carmen-Tulum highway.

“CFE personnel have begun work to restore power to affected users in Quintana Roo and Yucatan due to Hurricane Beryl. The crews are prepared to restore power in the shortest possible time with safety and precision,” the electricity supply company stated.
