According to Fabricio Cojuc, an independent consultant and aviation specialist, he believes that the Tulum airport will face in the near future insufficient and expensive ground transportation, in addition to the lack of promotion of the proximity of the Mayan Train.

“In the near future, it will have to resolve the issue of insufficiency and potentially expensive land transportation to get to and from it. In addition, there is a lack of publicity about the proximity it will have with the Mayan Train,” he said, according to Luces del Siglo.

Cojuc commented that the air terminal has an international vocation and they project that in the future it will operate 65% with foreign supply and the rest with domestic supply. “This is a complementary airport to the Cancun International Airport. It is a winning project that has been successful since its beginnings, where it was expected that 80% of its travelers would be foreigners,” he said.

The Olmecamayamexica Group predicts that, by the end of the year, the Tulum airport will carry out 11 thousand operations with 1.4 million passengers between national and international.

As reported by REPORTUR.mxMara Lezama, governor of Quintana Roo, visited the Tulum airport to supervise tourist services and praised the efficiency with which technology allows Immigration to be efficient, after the multiple complaints that this process is causing in airports such as Cancun, especially for markets such as Colombia. (Lezama boasts about Immigration in Tulum in response to complaints in Cancun).
