“On Vacation in the Dominican Republic” suddenly closed its operations

A new scam is being reported by citizens, where more than 1,000 Dominicans have been victims of a scam perpetrated by the tourist agency “On vacation in the DR”.
According to the testimonies of those affected, they made reservations and full payments for tourist packages with the agency, which was going to send them to destinations such as Colombia and Peruamong others. However, in a statement issued by the company on August 24, they announced the sudden closure of their operations, leaving Dominican tourists stranded abroad with no possibility of returning to their country.
Representatives of “De Vacaciones en RD” have not provided answers or solutions to the thousands of clients who have been scammed, who made payments ranging from $100 to $1,000 US dollars. Those affected feel deeply deceived and have made an urgent call to authorities such as Prosumidor to intervene and return their money.
Given the serious situation, the authorities must launch an exhaustive investigation to clarify the facts and determine the responsibilities of those behind this multi-million dollar scam that has left hundreds of Dominican families stranded abroad without their money, according to the local press.
