The formal call must be made by president of the SenateRicardo de los Santos, who also serves as the president of the National Assembly. De los Santos confirmed that the legislators will meet on Monday at 2:00 in the afternoon to begin work on the reform constitutional.
Prior to this, last Tuesday, already Congressdominated by an overwhelming majority of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), approved the bill that declares the need for a reform constitutional and that orders the meeting of the National Assembly in the next 15 days.
The assembly members
The day the Constitutionthe deputies and the senators will become assembly members in a special session where the PRM will not need the support of the opposition to apply the changes you deem appropriate.
The assembly members of the ruling party and its allies will total 176, while those of the People’s Force will be 31 and those of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), 13. The Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) and the Quisqueyano Christian Democratic Party (PQDC) will only have one member each.
