The arrival of Emirates Airlines in Colombia has encouraged competition with airlines such as Avianca and Latam on the Bogotá-Miami route and the connection to Dubai, with very good rates for the summer season, he told REPORTUR.co Paula Cortés, president of Anato. Additionally, she noted that airlines are looking for options like the code sharing they now have.
“Emirates is coming to the country, it is a bet by the Arab Emirates for Colombia, healthy competition is always good. Local airlines also have to look for options with foreign airlines and even more so with an airline like this, a strong airline, which just with the name being Emirates attracts people to come and really at very good prices,” Cortés told REPORTUR.co.
And he added that to Travel to Dubai “the only thing is that you have to have an American visa because you have to go to Miami and do immigration, with a period of three hours to make the connection. Competition in fares will not only be for local airlines, but also for international airlines that fly the route,” Cortés told this newspaper.
As reported REPORTUR.coEmirates signed shared agreements with Avianca to Travel via Europe to Dubai and other destinations it operates and with Latam to connect domestic Flights, as revealed at the time in an interview with REPORTUR.co, Scott Lantz, Country Manager for Mexico and Colombia. (“Emirates has signed shared codes with Avianca and Latam”).
