According to the details, the new Student Tourism Regulations will frame the activity of the sector by eliminating the obstacles that limit the correct functioning of the market. The processing of the National Authorization Certificate for Student Tourism Agencies will be through an agile administrative procedure, digitally and only once. And it will remain in force uninterruptedly, avoiding the previously existing requirement of repeating the authorization process every year.
In addition, the replacement of a complicated guarantee system (Student Tourism Fund, Trust and Zero Quota) with a surety insurance in favor of the passenger, which is contracted by the agency in the private sector and covers one hundred percent of the contract.
The current regulations also maintain the requirements for civil liability insurance, personal accident insurance, Travel assistance, the obligation to have a medical record for each passenger signed by a professional, and minimum ages of 21 and 18 years for those who work as coordinators and assistants.
For its part, FAEVYT (Argentine Federation of Travel and Tourism Business Associations) stated that: “We have been requesting updates to the Student Tourism Law for a long time now. Without a doubt, having this new regulation will be a positive step in several aspects.”
