Santiago.- The Santiago Tourist Destination Cluster valued as highly positive for the tourism development of this city, the signing today of an agreement by the Mayor of Santiago with the Dominican Football Federation (FEDOFUTBOL), in collaboration with the International Football Federation Association (FIFA) to hold the U-17 Women’s Soccer World Cup in this city.
The Cluster directors considered that bringing the Women’s Soccer World Cup to Santiago is the brightest idea that will make the city resonate on almost all continents.
“Football occupies the first place of the most played games in the world and is followed by more than a quarter of gamers, that will place us in places where they may have never heard of us, this is a huge opportunity that I know that our mayor will take advantage,” said Ramón Paulino after congratulating the newly elected mayor of Santiago de los Caballeros Ulises Rodríguez.
Paulino also expressed that “The Women’s Soccer World Cup, which will be held from October 16 to November 3 of this year, will last about 19 days and the venue will be shared with Santo Domingo, but the greatness of this type of event is, which not only brings the players, but with them arrive several days before, the technicians and also the football fans, meaning that there will be many days of high presence of foreigners who will require, in many cases, personnel who are fluent. several languages, we will have a great opportunity, but also a great challenge.”
