Cruise lines Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Disney and Princess have announced new ships to take advantage of the peak demand for cruises, and will add new vessels from this year until 2033.

Royal Caribbean has launched two new mega ships this year, one being the Icon of the Seas and recently the Utopia of the Seas, both sailing around the Caribbean. However, the shipping company has also announced its interest in smaller ships, but also wider and less high for destinations with bridges that make it difficult for large cruise ships to access cities, referring to Baltimore or Tampa, as reported by REPORTUR.us(Royal Caribbean is working on wider and lower ships.)

For its part, Carnival also announced three new mega ships, having already signed contracts with the Italian shipyard Fincantieri, which will be part of a new class of vessels to be delivered in 2029, 2031 and 2033. “Each of the ships will have the capacity to transport around 8,000 guests, a gross weight of 230,000 tons and more than 3,000 cabins,” this newspaper reported.

Disney will have a ship that will operate in Japan in partnership with Oriental Land Company. The new ship will be launched in early 2029, operated by Oriental Land Company and managed by Tokyo Disneyland.

Princess Cruises will also send Star Princess to Alaska in 2026 and will have a new Star Princess by fall 2025. This will be the first ship in the new Sphere class to sail in Alaska.
