Ángel Sebastián Lara defeated the Peruvian Luis Hendel Colorado De La Riva in a Spanish opening with white pieces, in a 36-move game that he dominated from the beginning to the end.

On his side, Leonardo Simó Paulino triumphed with white pieces against Aaaron Alvarez Solis in a Sicilian defense that extended in 79 moves.

The second round will be played this Thursday at 4:00 pm where the representatives of the Dominican Republic Ángel Sebastián Lara and Leonardo Simó Paulino will be facing Rodrigo Andre Pareja Pacco and Alek Yamunaque Oliveros from Peru Lima with black pieces.

The world event is played based on the Swiss system over nine (09) rounds and will be managed by the Swiss Manager program.

All games are played with electronic clocks that enable the time increment option.

The event is organized by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and the Peruvian Chess Sports Federation (FDPA), the pace of play is ninety (90) minutes for all categories, with an increment of thirty (30) seconds per every movement, from the beginning.

It was reported that awards will be given to the top ten (10) places in each category in the absolute and female categories.

The details were offered by the head of the ISFODOSU Master delegation and INEFI teaching coach, Lic. Braulio Ramírez, who confirmed that Ángel Sebastián Lara and Leonardo Simó Paulino are participating in the Under-13 category, and both have very good preparation for the world school event.
