The tourism project Brigantine Point supported cultural and sporting events Cañaveral Awards and the Montellano 10K raceas part of its commitment to social responsibility with the community.

Last Saturday, August 31, the 15th Cañaveral Awards Ceremony was held at the Montellano Recreational Club, where the best students, professionals and outstanding personalities of the municipality of Montellano were recognized.

The information was offered Leonela VolquezDirector of Community, Sustainability and Research at Punta Bergantín, representing the executive director of the tourism project, Andres Marranzini. In addition to Punta Bergantín, the event was sponsored by Montellano Town Hall.

At the event, where young people, adults and prominent personalities were recognized and awarded, Vólquez motivated the community of Montellano to “make an effort and prepare for the great opportunities that this great tourism project will generate in the north and the country.”

Among the awards given, the highest prize, “El Gran Cañaveral,” stood out, awarded to Don Andrés Polanco, “an example of work, creator of a family with Christian values ​​and a model of life for his family and those around him.”

Also recognized with the award for meritorious student of the year was young Suldaireny Valdez, from the Mother Teresa of Calcutta High School, who also holds the distinction at the provincial level.

Montellano 10K Race

Another event that received support from the tourism project was the Montellano 10K race, held last Sunday, September 1, in which children, young people and adults from different communities in the province participated.

The project, identified with this and other initiatives, as part of its social commitment and tourism vision, supported “these types of value proposals that seek to strengthen the good practices developed by the municipality,” reported Leonela Volquez, Director of Community, Sustainability and Research.

Volquez presented medals to the participants and expressed the project’s commitment to continue contributing initiatives that enable social, tourist and educational development.
