The president of the Republic, Luis Abinaderled the inauguration of the 13th edition of the Jarabacoa Flower Festival 2024.
The cultural event, which this year has the motto “Spring that Contagions”, will run until Sunday 14th in the La Confluencia ecological park in the mountainous municipality of La Vega province.
The first lady accompanied him to the event, Rachel Arbaje; who expressed his satisfaction at accompanying the president to the cultural and tourist activity. The Vice Minister of Tourism, Roberto Henriquezwho highlighted that the exhibition is the main platform that has Jarabacoa to project its potential, among others.
“Events such as this Las Flores festival, which has been running for 13 years, enhance the great tourist offer of Jarabacoa, a destination blessed by nature,” he said.
On his side, Mercedes Perez (Mily), president of the Flower Festival, thanked Luis Abinader for becoming the first president to participate in that event.
He called on Dominican and foreign tourists to visit Jarabacoa so they can enjoy the exhibition.
The mayor of Jarabacoa, Joselito Abreuhighlighted the importance of the event and said he hopes that the exhibition will help position the municipality as an ecotourism destination.
During the festival, a wide variety of plants and flowers will be on display, which visitors will be able to obtain at a low cost.
In addition, agricultural products, crafts, and other goods and services from the province will be on display, highlighting the great variety that the municipality of eternal spring has.
There will also be a wide range of activities, including an adventure circuit, zip line or canopy, a volleyball and soccer tournament, a painting exhibition, the “Marca Ciudad Destino Jarabacoa” panel, a Paso Fino horse competition, a float parade, and more.
During the four days of the festival, there will also be activities with artists, with prominent figures, and awards will be given.
