Some 19,800 police officers were dispatched yesterday morning to be positioned in strategic places where they will reinforce the security device in the Ordinary Presidential and Congressional General Elections next Sunday, May 19 of the current year.
The act of deployment of police personnel was led by the general director of the National Police, Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, who handed over the personnel under his command to the head of the Electoral Military Police, Major General of the Army of the Dominican Republic (ERD). , Juan José Otaño Jiménez.
During the official event, held at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, the security protocols, procedures and conditions were reviewed to guarantee the transparency and effectiveness of the actions of the military and police personnel who will participate in the process of the upcoming elections on the 19th. of May.
Along with the major generals Guzmán Peralta and Otaño Jiménez, there were generals Andrés Cruz Cruz; police inspector general; Esteban Figuereo García, central director of Human Resources, and other general officers who make up the high command of the law enforcement institution.

The activity began with an invocation to God, to guide and give wisdom to police officers in the practice of their assignments.
Likewise, each police member was instructed to work with dedication, respect and by virtue of the responsibility that is demanded of them at this time.
Closing of the event
To close this important event, there was a roll call and the distribution of police personnel to be sent to the precincts located in the different provinces of the national territory.
