The Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300ER, carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew, was diverted to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, where it landed at 3:45 p.m. local time. The plane plummeted about 1,800 meters in just five minutes as it crossed the Andaman Sea and approached Thailand.
