On Sunday, October 6, the outstanding soprano dominican Nathalie Peña-Comas will be performed in the Old Church of Helsinki, Finland, at the invitation of the Association of Musicians of the Philharmonic Orchestra of that nation located in northeastern Europe.

For such an important occasion, the artist will be part of the premiere world from the work “Songbook of Absences” by the Romanian-Finnish composer Teodor Nicolau, which he dedicates to the soprano Creole and is based on poems by the Spanish writer Miguel Hernández.

In that concert will be accompanied by quintet string group of the Helsinki Philharmonic composed of Pekka Kauppinen and Anna-Leena Haikola (violin), Atte Kilpeläinen (viola), Lauri Kankkunen (cello) and Anni Kuusimäki (harp).

Once this important musical commitment is over, Peña-Comas will debut in LimePeru, on Wednesday, October 9 at the Gran National theater together with the National Symphony Orchestra of Peru under the direction of maestro Fernando Valcárcel.

The artist expressed that she will participate in that evening as a guest of the embassy of the Dominican Republic. In it he will interpret arias from opera and emblematic Dominican and Peruvian songs to commemorate 150 years of bilateral relations between the Dominican Republic and the Republic of Peru.

Concerts in November and December

In this year of successful presentationson Saturday, November 16, Nathalie Peña-Comas will star in concert “Emotions” in the Golden Room of the iconic Musikverein theater in Vienna.

With the accompaniment of the distinguished Chamber Orchestra of Vienna and the Arnold Schönberg Choir, the soprano dominican will perform alongside the mezzo-soprano Russian Sofiya Almazova, Austrian tenor Jörg Schneider and Swiss baritone Alexander Beuchat’s Symphony no. 9 of L. v. Beethoven as well as Symphony no. 2 by G. Mahler, under the baton of the Spanish maestro Francisco Navarro Lara.

On Saturday, November 23, the Studio Channel Islands Art Center will host the concert “Songs without borders”, in Camarillo, Californiawhere Nathalie accompanied by the renowned pianist American Armen Guzelimian will perform a varied program that includes songs from operaoperetta, zarzuela, musicals and boleros, musical pieces requested by lovers of opera at concerts.

This year’s agenda will conclude on December 2, with a concert in Lebanonin the historic city of Byblos, where she will be accompanied by her sister the cellist Nicole Peña-Comas and del pianist Chilean Hugo Llanos Campos.

Dominican soprano Nathalie Peña-Comas asserts that to date she has exhausted an agenda of 41 performances in the following countries: Austria, Egypt, Spain, Turkey, Russia, Panama, Italy, the United States and the Dominican Republic. “Our debut at the Vienna Opera Summer festival, playing the character of Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, has been without a doubt one of the highlights of our agenda this year.”
