The mayor of Boca Chica, Ramon Candelariaannounced that, together with the Minister of Tourism, David Colladoare carrying out a general survey of the infrastructures affected by the Hurricane Berylas well as other projects pending execution in the municipality.
The mayor shared details about the plans of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) to rehabilitate the beach of Boca Chica and the tourist areas that suffered damage due to the passage of the natural phenomenon.
In this regard, Candelaria stressed that both the Ministry of Tourism and the mayor’s office are committed to making joint efforts to improve the municipality’s tourist infrastructure and to refurbish the city’s busiest beach areas.
“In Boca Chica, the survey of all the works that are going to be carried out in the municipality is already being carried out, to contribute to the mayor’s office and to the community that has been waiting for a long time for the execution of pending works,” he stressed.
However, the mayor clarified that a general budget has not yet been drawn up for what the works to be carried out will represent in terms of investment, both the current ones and the projects that have been waiting for years to be carried out, with the aim of transforming this tourist centre.
“During his recent visit to Boca Chica, Minister David Collado promised to rehabilitate the works that were damaged by the recent passage of Hurricane Beryl and those that were already affected, but also those that have been waiting for their execution for some time,” he said.
He added that “this joint effort promises to significantly transform the tourism landscape of Boca Chica, benefiting both residents and visitors who enjoy its beaches and services.”
During his visit to Boca Chica, the Minister of Tourism also met with leaders of beach unions, community leaders and media representatives to coordinate and communicate the actions to be taken for the benefit of the community and local tourism.
