Roberto Alcántara Rojas, owner of Viva Aerobus, proposes that the government create routes between the stations of the Maya Train and the urban and archaeological areas on the Mérida-Cancún stretch.
The businessman’s business vision is to take advantage of the disconnection that exists between the stations and the tourist sites. Apparently, Alcántara’s contact would be one of the sons of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), Gonzalo López, who supervises the works, as reported by El CEO.
Sources told LPO that the businessman’s interest would be to maintain ties with the government of President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum and continue consolidating his bus business, which is part of his IAMSA Group.
As reported by REPORTUR.mxAMLO has promised to inaugurate all the remaining sections of the Maya Train before the end of his term and not leave anything pending for the president-elect Claudia Sheinbaum. He expects that they will be able to open section 7 at the end of August and 5 and 6 in mid-September. (Maya Train: AMLO promises not to leave anything pending for Sheinbaum).
“We are already moving forward and we will reach Tulum; work is being done from the Tulum airport station to Chetumal, it is section 6 and section 7 to close the circuit, the station is working and we have 2 dates. First the section to Chetumal, we are thinking of doing it at the end of August, in about a month it would be done and before September 15 the entire section will be done,” AMLO said at the time.
