“I always think that the public figure of importance must be decided, chosen, designated by a collective body,” said Germán.
He also spoke about what would happen with the independence of the Public Prosecutor’s Office If you remove the High Council of the Constitution, by specifying that “institutions at each moment in history play their role” and if the transformations that are made are “favorable”, then, “amen.”
These statements were offered after the inauguration of a emblematic mural which honors leaders who have made outstanding contributions to the National Council of the Public Defense, in the framework of the commemoration of its twentieth anniversary.
The mural highlights the figure of distinguished leaders such as Jorge Subero Isa already Mariano Germanwho served as president of the National Council of Public Defense at key moments in its evolution. Likewise, it was recognized Luis Henry Molina Peña, current president of that body.
The past directors of the school also occupy a place of honour on this mural. National Office of Public Defense Rosalía Sosa and Laura Hernández, and equally the director of this institution, Rodolfo Valentin Saints.

The National Office of Public Defense has handled a total of 463,885 cases assigned to public defenders over 20 years. In the last decade, they have focused on providing legal assistance to nearly two million people, with a total of 1,783,467 beneficiaries. The unveiling of the mural is part of a series of commemorative activities that will continue throughout the year.
