The Government ordered the technical closure of the landfill which is located in the storage and pumping area of the water that will supply the hotels in the tourist area of Red Cape in Flints.
The disposal occurred after multiple complaints of the polluting environment of the waters stolen from the subsoil near the solid waste deposit of the municipality of Pedernales.
Although local authorities have not established where the new landfill would be located, heavy equipment and technical personnel work day and night to adapt what will be an ecological park.
According to reports, the authorities are looking for an area where the garbage from both the hotels in the tourist city of Cabo Rojo and those collected in Pedernales will be deposited.
They contemplate the installation of advanced systems with technology-based classification for a recycling process and use of organic fertilizer, according to El Nacional.
