San José de Ocoa.- The South Central Regional Directorate of the National Police, based in Baní, announced the successful arrest of José Daniel Mejía, alias “Baní”, 30 years old and resident in the Washington neighborhood of Matanza de Baní.
The arrest was carried out on the main street of the Las Malaguetas sector, La Horma, Sabana Larga municipality, Ocoa, by members of the DICRIM investigation division of San José de Ocoa.
Mejía, who has more than two arrest warrants in Baní for motorcycle theft, faces charges for violating articles 379, 381, 383 and 385 of the Dominican Penal Code. The arrest warrant No. 0497-2023-TAUT-00472, issued by the judge on duty on August 14, 2023, is based on the testimony of a citizen, whose name has been withheld, who indicated him as the person responsible for breaking the padlock of its awning and steal its Honda engine, model C-50, license plate K0307338, black, on July 30, 2023.
