The Fair International of the Book Santo Domingo (FILSD) opens tonight, at 7:00 pm, with a gala in the Carlos Piantini Room of the Eduardo Brito National Theater.
The event will begin with a tribute to the writer and National Prize for Literature, Matthew Morrisonand will have as the guest of honor the community of Washington Heights, which is home to the largest concentration of Dominicans in New York City. The FILSD will receive the public in the Plaza de la Culture Juan Pablo Duarte, with an attractive program that will bring together prominent national and international writers.

A few hours before the start of the literary festival, Ferrer expressed that they have great expectationsand have spared no effort to offer a space that meets the expectations of the public and exhibitors.

Last year, the organization and assembly of the fair was very well received, highlighting the design of the pavilions, the programming, the attendance of the public and the large number of books marketed by publishers and authors.

A few years ago, the fair implemented the Bond Bookan initiative to motivate the public, especially young people.
“We are relaunching and revitalizing the Bond Book to double its reach, with a carefully selected offering that promises to compete with any bookstore in the world. Organized by the Ministry of Culturethrough the General Directorate of the Fair of the BookDuring the day, workshop participants from different regions of the country will receive scholarships that will cover their accommodation and meals so they can participate in the fair.
