The Fair International of the Book Santo Domingo (FILSD) opens tonight, at 7:00 pm, with a gala in the Carlos Piantini Room of the Eduardo Brito National Theater.

The event will begin with a tribute to the writer and National Prize for Literature, Matthew Morrisonand will have as the guest of honor the community of Washington Heights, which is home to the largest concentration of Dominicans in New York City. The FILSD will receive the public in the Plaza de la Culture Juan Pablo Duarte, with an attractive program that will bring together prominent national and international writers.

A few years ago, the fair implemented the Bond Bookan initiative to motivate the public, especially young people.

The program

The FILSD will have more than 600 activities, including 130 book presentations, and established authors and new talents will share their most recent works with the public.
