JetBlue will have a significant change in its hand luggage policy for passengers travelling on the Blue Basic fare.
From September 6, 2024, passengers who choose the fare will be able to take one carry-on bag at no additional cost, the airline confirmed in response to recent inquiries.
The news comes after many travellers were concerned about possible restrictions on hand luggage.
JetBlue clarified that although the new policy will go into effect in September, current restrictions will remain in place until that date.
It means that for Flights scheduled before September 6, 2024, passengers with fares Blue Basic will not be allowed to carry a carry-on bag. If they attempt to do so, they will be charged a fee and the bag will have to be checked at the boarding gate.
With the update, JetBlue seeks to offer greater flexibility to its passengers, adapting to the needs of those who opt for lower fares without sacrificing the convenience of carrying carry-on luggage.
