The vice president of the Republic, Raquel Penaled this Saturday the inauguration of the new police detachment of the Zonal Supervisory Office, in the municipality of Puñal, Santiago.

This modern space is designed to optimize the police service and strengthen the citizen securitydirectly impacting more than 77,500 inhabitants of the community.

The detachment, built on an area of 171.45 m², has facilities designed to improve the working conditions of agents and guarantee efficient service.

Its features include cells separated for men and women, bedroomsbathrooms, weapons storage, waiting room, complaints reception office, commander’s department and an area for the Central Directorate of Investigations (Dicrim).

During the event, which was attended by General Juan H. Guzmán Badia, deputy director general of the National Police, the vice president highlighted the relevance of this work as part of the national strategy security driven by President Luis Abinader.

“With this delivery, we improve the working conditions of our agents and renew the trust of the citizens in our National Police. This is one more step towards the reform and modernization of the institution that the country deserves,” Peña stated in his speech.

The vice president stressed that this initiative not only reinforces security, but also dignifies the police workallowing agents to perform their duties more efficiency and proximity to the community.

General Guzmán Badia, representing the managing director of the National Police, Ramon Antonio Guzman Peraltathanked the government for the support for the improvement of police facilities.

“This detachment reflects the commitment to professionalization and the quality of the service that the institution provides to the citizens“he noted.

He is a journalist, graduated from the Dominican O&M University. He has practiced journalism since 2005, residing in Santiago. He likes to serve the best interests of society through his profession.
