YouTube user “Yehoshua spotting planes” has shared some footage of the first major fire in Madrid filmed from the window of one of the planes Air Europa after taking off from Barajas.
Passengers witnessed the cloud of smoke generated by the flames, which broke out on August 22 in Tres Cantos. Presumably, it was caused by a cigarette butt being thrown from a car.
It took forestry brigades, forest rangers and firefighters around two days to contain the flames, which razed more than 500 hectares.
