He Ministry of Inside and Police (IPM) announced today the distribution of 3,500 first aid kits at the main tolls in Santo Domingo as part of the campaign “Travel safe, returns conscious“.
This initiative aims to promote the security road and awareness citizen during the end of year season.
The marketing director of arms and MIP ammunition, Salvador Potentin,stated that this initiative seeks to raise awareness among families about the prudence at this time, avoiding accidents and unfortunate situations.
“We are working so that no family lose a loved one due to recklessness or abuse of the alcohol“Potentin highlighted during the launch of the campaign at the Duarte highway toll station.
He indicated that each kit includes basic supplies to attend emergencies minors and is part of a comprehensive strategy that also includes the delivery of promotional materials such as caps and educational brochures.
The operation is carried out through the Directorate of Peaceful Coexistence and Culture and the Vice Ministry of Citizen Coexistence. It will take place at the tolls on the Las Américas, Duarte and 6 de Noviembre highways.
Use responsible of the tracks
The campaign encourages the use responsible of the roads, avoiding the consumption of alcohol when driving and promoting a safe return home.
“We are encouraging the citizenship to avoid the use of arms illegal, to drive responsibly and return to their loved ones in peace,” he said.
The campaign also seeks to generate awareness in vulnerable sectors through diagnoses and mapping of areas of riskin order to mitigate incidents during the massive displacements characteristic of these dates.

The distribution of the first aid kits and awareness actions will continue throughout December.
The project was designed by the Directorate of Socialization and Prevention of the MIP and headed by its head Faride Raful, who stressed the importance of this initiative to guarantee a festive season free of violence.
