The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex) will deliver next Thursday, November 7, the Prize to the Emigrant Dominican Mr. Oscar de la Renta, in order to distinguish Dominican citizens who stand out in the countries where they reside, maintaining ties with their country of origin.
He Mirex last July called for the presentation of candidatures, these were evaluated by a commission and the award juries. The award ceremony will be at the Convention Center of the Mirex.
The ten finalists who were selected for this sixth edition reside in different places around the world, from Belgium and Swissuntil Italy, Kingdom United, Port Rich and the United States.
One of them will take a statuette and one million pesos as a contribution from Reserve Bank.

Ana Elvira Pascual Vicioso: resides in Belgiumwhere he founded the Dominican Benelux, an association of Dominicans in that city. He also created the Humanitarian Association Help Us Walk (Ayacam), in which he provides support to the dominican diaspora who faces violence and discrimination.
Pascual Vicioso is a nurse by profession and in the Dominican Republic, specifically in Monte Plata, she has facilitated technical training through agreements with educational institutions.
Cornelius Julián Pérez Valerio: He is a Dominican in Swissspecifically in Bern. It has developed protection programs for women with immigration problems and, together with non-profit institutions, participates in raising funds to help Dominicans. He uses his profession for these purposes, since he is a computer science specialist.
Edmundo Jorge Morey: founded in Port Rico, Jordan Cardiology Center, a refuge for the Dominican community on the Isla del Encanto. He has worked to offer services to the homeless at the Love Center.
It supports Dominican emigrants who suffer from cancer together with the Dominican Consulate in Puerto Rico, and through its private office it provides free care to people referred by various institutions, with Dominicans as priority.
Dr. Rigoberto Pérez DÃaz: is a specialist in Medicine Sports, with a doctorate in Medicine Naturopathic, which inspired him to create “Rigoball”, a baseball variant that helps improve the physical and mental health of the participants.
He works as an ambassador at the United Nations and IIMSA. In the Dominican Republic it has had several social initiatives, donating medicines and medical equipment to vulnerable communities.
Milka Rosalyn Guzmán Waterland: is rooted in HoustonTexas, where he created the Fábrica de Milagros Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the living conditions of vulnerable children in the DR, impacting different communities with various programs, which include the delivery of food rations, dental operations and the construction of preschool classrooms. .
Guzmán Waterland is a dentist by profession, a specialist in Endodontics.
José Javier Fernández Grullón: is an entrepreneur, who resides in Boston. He started a business with his brothers and currently has 30 branches. He is originally from El Guano, in the Dominican Republic, and has helped his community, work that he has been able to extend to other places in the country.
He has collaborated with the Villa Esperanza Hostel, in Azua; the FEY Foundation in Santiago and Family Reach, supporting people fighting cancer.
Zaida Altagracia Florian Mendez: is a resident in Kingdom United for 25 years, where she has worked as a children’s teacher. He currently collaborates with the Armada Community Hall. In Kingdom United created the Dominican Organization in Action-Londrés, which is dedicated to preserving the Dominican identity in the European country.
In his native country he has collaborated in the Neyba Book Fair, the Haina House of Culture and the Foundation for the Development of Medical Dispensaries in San Juan.
Juan Emilio Romero Durán: resides in New York, and owns one of the best-known restaurants in Queens, Café Rubio.
He is founder of the Divino Niño Foundation, where medical assistance is offered to children born with defects, providing reconstructive surgeries.
In the country he has donated dialysis machines to the Padre Billini Hospital and organized the creation of a blood bank in Jarabacoa.
Miguelina Baldera Santana: resides in the Aosta Valley, in Italyhas a background in finance and has worked to strengthen community ties and local institutions. She is president of the Association of Latin American Women of Valle d’Aosta “Uniendo RaÃces”. And it has a key role in the Confederation of Dominican Associations in Italy.
Ydanis Antonio RodrÃguez: He is the current director of the Department of Transportation of New York, has co-founded two schools that have impacted Dominican students, which are: Gregorio Luperón and the Community Health Academy of the Heights.
He is an advocate of Dominican culture and has organized conferences with exponents from the United States through his work at the Dominican Sports Foundation in NY Inc. and Somos Community Car. He has also coordinated delivery of medicines and food to Dominicans in residents in areas of New York.
