The office of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD-Florida), sister entity of the Global Democracy and Development Foundation (Funglode) in the United States, with the collaboration of the Festival of Cinema Global Santo Domingo (FCGSD) announced the celebration of the eighth edition of the “Dominican Film Showcase Florida”.
This year, the event will feature a screening of the film “Freddy“, produced by Giancarlo Beras-Goicowhich tells the life of the iconic Dominican television producer and philanthropist Freddy Beras-Goico.
The screening will take place at the historic “Tower Theater“, located on Miami’s iconic Calle Ocho, on Thursday, September 19 at 6:30 p.m., as reported by Jose J. ZaiterCEO of GFDD-Florida.
In this regard, Záiter reported that this edition will pay tribute to Dominican filmmakers. Alfonso Rodriguez and Blademil Grullon for their outstanding contributions to the development of Dominican cinematography. In previous years, figures such as Ellis Pérez, Yvette Marichal, Omar de la Cruz and Hans García have also been recognized for their work in this field.
