The Spanish singer Diego El Cigala will return to the Dominican Republic next July 12 to act at the Eduardo Brito National Theater and recognized feel “excited” for delighting the public with his repertoire of romantic songs transformed into flamenco.
“This country is very special and I am excited to return (…) I will share with my audience my best hits accompanied by pianist Jaime Calabuch “Jumitus”, who has been my collaborator since 2005,” said the 55-year-old artist.
Born in Madrid but naturalized as a Dominican since 2014 for his “love” for the country, he reported that “Masterpieces,” the name of this concert, has already been presented in cities in Spain, Mexico and the United States with great success.
El Cigala is considered one of the most relevant artists of the 21st century thanks to flamenco and his mix of Latin and Spanish culture, leading him to perform on the best stages in the world such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Mexico City Auditorium , the Monte Carlo Opera or the Barbican in London.
With more than 30 years of career, the most international flamenco singer has, until now, won seven Grammy Awards, five Luna Awards, five Amigo Awards, three Music Awards and two Ondas Awards, in addition to selling more than two million of albums and several gold records in different countries.
