Despegar is looking for thousands of young people to train them in computing

Despegar announced the opening of registration for the 17th edition of its training program in web development technologies called “Jóvenes de Alto Vuelo” (JAV). The call for this new edition begins on April 30 and will be available until May 7.

This year the requirements to participate are: being over 18 years old, residing in CABA, Greater Buenos Aires or La Plata (Argentina), having basic knowledge of development and programming, and having completed secondary education. Those who want to register must do so through this link.

“With a record of 16,300 registered in 2023, and marking a significant increase from the 1,500 registered in 2021, Jóvenes de Alto Vuelo is a program that reinforces our objective of being a training school. We expect a great call for this edition and we are committed to preparing new talents with all the necessary tools for their professional development in the IT area,” comments Mariano Cifre, VP of Engineering at Despegar.

The program will begin in August and will last three months. During this time, participants will receive intensive training in Backend development using Java, create their own app to address specific challenges in the tourism industry, and learn about Software production, tools and development technologies. After the training, the people who participate will be assigned to a project of the Despegar development teams, where they will be able to apply all this acquired knowledge and continue their professional career in the Despegar Team.

The call for the 17th edition joins other Despegar training initiatives, such as the Digital Accelerator Program, reaffirming the company’s commitment to being a training school for the best talent on the market. “If you are passionate about technology and want to learn from experts, this is your opportunity!” Cifre invites.
