The Tourist Cluster of the Puerto Plata Destination (CTDPP) supports the temporary closure of the Cable Car, ordered by its Board of Trustees and the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Mitur).
The Cable Car, one of the most visited tourist attractions on the North Coast, receives thousands of visitors weekly, which is why the Cluster considers its remodeling and modernization timely in order to offer a safer, modern, renewed experience, and adjusted to the quality standards demanded by the increasingly demanding niches of national and international markets.
The authorities affirm that they will take all necessary measures so that the Isabel de Torres Natural Monument can continue to be visited safely by land, to connect with the top of the mountain and from there appreciate its impressive landscapes as part of an experience that is committed to sustainability.
The Board of Trustees and Mitur have maintained that, after its remodeling, the Cable Car will restart its operations as a singular and unique complementary offer for the Puerto Plata destination.
