At least 28 alleged members of armed groups were killed this Tuesday in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince by members of the National Policeas well as for civilianswho burned the bodies of more than twenty of them and scattered them throughout the city, which is practically paralyzed, while the clashes continue.
The information was confirmed to the local press by the National Policewhose spokesman, Lionel Lazarre, initially spoke of 18 alleged gang members dead or injured.
Some of them were killed by police inside the houses in which they took refuge and, later, located by the civilians who ended up burning the bodies.
The dead, according to information, are part of armed gangs that began to unfold in various parts of the capital between Monday night and Tuesday morning with the aim of establishing new bases in areas that are not yet under their direct control.
It is likely that this balance will increase again in the coming hours due to the registrations being carried out by the citizens in areas where it is believed that the gang members.
In messages that have been circulating on social networks for several days, armed gangs have announced attacks in Delmas and Pétion-ville with the aim of taking control of these areas.
The population from the areas of Nazon, Lalue, Christ Roi and Bois-Verna lived a night of terror, with intense shots of automatic weapons that forced hundreds of people to spend the night awake.
The entire situation forced the paralysis of the commercial activities and the teaching in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Princewhere there are also blocked areas and surveillance brigades have been set up in search of more gang members.
At various points in the capital clashes are taking place between agents and the armed gangscreating a panic situation in the capital.
The main streets are empty, giving the impression that the capital is on strike.
