ANAC data for July confirms that domestic tickets are falling and international tickets are increasing, maintaining overall passenger air traffic. In an analysis of the first half of the year, the top 10 airports in terms of passenger volume in the first seven months of 2024 are as follows: Aeroparque with 8,263,000 departures, Ezeiza with 6,371,000 and Córdoba with 6,420,000.
Córdoba, in this way, maintains its leadership (outside of Buenos Aires) and a trend already marked in 2023. (Córdoba stood out as the main Hub of the interior in 2023)
The list of the top ten is completed by Bariloche, Mendoza, Iguazú, Salta, Ushuaia, Neuquén and El Calafate. Destinations that are very well positioned, among which Mendoza stands out, which has been rising in recent years thanks to its positioning in wine routes, hotels and complementary activities.
Meanwhile, looking at domestic traffic by airline, Flybondi gained 10 percentage points of market share from JetSmart, both behind the flag carrier that remains the leader despite the incipient open skies policy.
On international routes, competition is much more fragmented. The occupancy rate for domestic Flights ranges from 84% for Aerolíneas Argentinas (16% of empty seats), 87% for JetSmart and 89% for Flybondi, all in a context of falling domestic demand.
