RD$600 million to be spent on Sosúa beach

The Minister of Tourism, David Colladoassured that the Government is taking measures to strengthen the tourist infrastructure, for which it will invest US$20 million in the modernization of the Puerto Plata Cable Car.

“There was a risk with the cable car,” he said, explaining that, although the tour operators did not want to close it, the company that certified its opening when it had a breakdown, said it would not certify it anymore, because “it could fall.”

He also highlighted that RD$700 million were invested in the wastewater treatment plant of Luperonas well as RD$130 million in the completion of the highway Cenote Beach.

According to the official, RD$79 million was also allocated to repair sidewalks and curbs in the Historic Center of Puerto Plata. He also explained that the highway is being paved. Sosuaaccording to El Dinero.

“In a firm, decisive decision, determined to end prostitution tourism in Sosúa, the abuse of our children and adolescents, we are investing RD$600 million in the reconstruction of that beach,” he said.

Collado also mentioned the works that he left in operation during his administration, among which the plant stands out. Golden Beach and the Maimón multipurpose center, among others.
