Incident involving an Avianca Boeing 787 Dreamliner on a route between Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and Bogotá, the capital of Colombia.
According to air traffic controllers via their official X account (formerly Twitter), when flying over the Atlantic, the crew reported that they needed to divert to Madrid to urgently attend to a passenger with medical problems.
As can be seen in the Flightradar24 image accompanying this information, the plane has made a turn of more than 90 degrees and has headed towards Barajas, where medical assistance on the ground has been coordinated. “We provided them with the most direct route possible, shortened approach and taxied to the stand with priority,” they report.
As reported REPORTUR.coman Avianca Flight had to return to Bogotá’s El Dorado Airport after a two-hour Flight to Sao Paulo, Brazil, due to a couple fighting over a cell phone that exploded the battery and filled the cabin with smoke. This has motivated the airline and others to propose the creation of lists of passengers who are suitable for Travel, and thus avoid disruptive passengers.
