The executive director of the Airport Department Victor Pichardo reported that in the next few days it is expected that construction work will begin on the Heliport of Santiagoa work described as a necessity for this city.

Pichardo visited the headquarters of the Association for the Development of Santiago (Apedi), as well as the board of trustees of the Central Parkplace where the building will be built.

According to a press release, the official stressed that the greatest importance of this heliport lies in that Santiago does not have a specialized structure like this one, to deal with situations of emergency and perform evacuations safe.

He indicated that the work was already tendered and awardedin accordance with the provisions of Law 340-06 on Purchases and Contracts, respecting all corresponding regulations.

He heliport will have a modern terminal and three helipador platform for helicopterswith an environmentally friendly design and integrated into the Central Park.
