An employee of Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific was filmed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia throwing passengers’ suitcases from the top of a metal staircase, not caring about the damage she might cause to the luggage.
A video posted on social media, which was recorded on a cell phone, shows the exact moment in which the Cathay Pacific employee throws at least six suitcases into the void, which bounce due to the impact of the fall.
In response to this incident, Cathay Pacific quickly apologized, expressing regret for the inconvenience caused to the affected passengers. It noted that this was a clear violation of its strict baggage handling protocols.
The airline clarified that the employee shown in the video belongs to one of its ground handling service providers and reported that she has already been suspended from her duties while a thorough investigation into these events is carried out.
