Aerolíneas Argentinas filed a complaint with the Labor Secretariat of the Ministry of Human Capital of the Nation, denouncing a covert strike by the unions Apla (pilots) and AAA (cabin crew), carried out under the excuse of supposed information meetings.
According to the unions themselves, between August 19 and 30, the actions cover more than 14 hours of assemblies in different air terminals, which constitute an effective and total paralysis of the company’s activity in those and other locations, as revealed by REPORTUR.com.ar (AR pilots demand higher pay and disrupt passenger plans).
As of Friday, this “covert strike” by Aerolíneas Argentinas affected more than 1,500 passengers due to Flight cancellations, and another 10,000 due to delays and rescheduling. As specified by the national airline, a total of 16 Flights were cancelled, and another 85 were delayed, causing serious economic damage and damage to Aerolíneas Argentinas in terms of corporate image.
For this reason, Aerolíneas Argentinas has filed a complaint against these unions with the labor authority requesting that this abusive behavior be stopped, and will also apply salary reductions to more than 200 pilots, co-pilots and cabin crew, who have strengthened their stance since Javier Milei was elected president.
