President Luis Abinader, reported that they have already started the tender to implement the biometric passport.
«It is normal that there are changes. Today we are giving more than double the number of passports that were being granted, for example, in 2019, and the systems have changed,” he added.
The president said that the implementation of the biometric passport is to improve and provide a better service, since it has been requested for decades.
