The symbolic arrival was held yesterday at Punta Cana International Airportwith a reception full of merengue and folk dance. It represents having broken the mark of attracting more than one million additional visitors compared to the previous year.
He visitor 11 million and his family
Bruce Pirt, the 11 millionth visitor, arrived along with his family on Air Transat Flight 830 from OttawaCanada.
With a smile, he thanked warm welcome and shared his special connection with the countrymentioning that he got married in Dominican Republic 20 years ago and returns frequently due to warm weather and hospitality.
His wife, Kathryn Jennifer Curtis, also expressed her appreciation, noting that, due to the cold in Canada, they prefer to visit the country during your vacation. The couple traveled accompanied by their daughters, Melissa Jane and Anna Wyn.
Tourist power
He tourism ministerDavid Collado, highlighted that this record is a clear sign that the Dominican Republic is on its way to consolidating itself as a tourist power in the region.
