A dog traveled about 6 kilometers in Oregon (USA) to alert the family of its owner, Brandon Garrett, that something bad had happened to him, the Baker County Sheriff’s Office recently announced.
The man, accompanied by his four dogswas traveling on the night of June 2 to join his relatives in a camp when he suffered a car accident and fell down a ravine.
The next morning, his family notified authorities that they had located Garrett’s vehicle but were unable to reach the location due to difficult terrain. During the search and rescue operation, Sheriff Travis Ash located the car, along with a dog, in the steep ravine.
Garrett was found by Ash about 100 meters from his truck, above the water. The man had managed to crawl from his vehicle after the accident and spent the night in the creek.
The sheriff gave him first aid until rescue teams arrived and he was later airlifted to a hospital. His loyal pet played a crucial role in the rescue. The other dogs were also found alive at the scene of the accident.
